Tutor Biography

Hello ! My name is Anne-Marie but I am more often called Nanou, which has always been my nickname, the choice is yours!

I was born in the south of France. I like travelling, cooking, gardening, reading.

I was part of a theatre company for 15 years and this discipline has helped me a lot to understand the importance of sharing and group work.

I moved in the United States 9 years ago with my husband, without knowing how to speak English, so I know what it is like to learn a new language, I know that it can be difficult, but it is exciting and it has allowed me to communicate (with a strong French accent) in the Shakespeare’s language with wonderful people, but above all I wanted to communicate my passion for the Molière’s language !

I was a private tutor for 2 years in an international school and today I am the Vice-President of the Alliance Française in Boise, Idaho. In parallel, I teach one-on-one to adults. I taught improvisation classes in a high school, which was an extraordinary experience, as I became aware of the importance of playing in learning a language, because it must remain above all fun and interesting, but I was especially very proud to see my students progress!

My passion for cooking gave me the opportunity to open a French restaurant for 5 years and customers quickly insisted that I speak French constantly with them. The desire to teach came at that time. Since then, it has a been wonderful experience teaching on both continents because I share my time between France and the United States.

I like to adapt my courses to your level, needs and availability, and thanks to Zoom and Skype, we have a lot of flexibility, to study at your pace!
