Bonjour !
My name is Guillaume. I was born and raised in the south of France, in Provence, a region best known for its purple lavender fields and the sun-soaked Côte d’Azur along the Mediterranean coast. After living and working in various countries, I’m very happy to be working with the dynamic team at LearnFrenchAtHome and to settle in Guadalajara, Mexico, a country that is dear to my heart due to the beauty of its heritage, from Baja California to Oaxaca.
As for my background, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in European Intercultural Studies and began teaching French during my final year in Bavaria, Germany. Afterwards, I continued teaching while pursuing a Master’s degree in Learning Sciences at Université Paris Cité. These very positive experiences convinced me to pursue a career in the French language education. Eager to polish my skills as a French teacher, I also completed a DAEFLE diploma in partnership with the Alliance Française in Paris.
I have also had other professional experiences that have positively contributed to this path, such as working as a children’s facilitator, PR & facilitator in Greece for the Youth Entrepreneur Club, as well as a research associate in Portugal, where I worked on interdisciplinary projects combining psychology and anthropology.
Passionate about travels and intercultural exchanges, I have had the privilege of living and working in different countries, gaining a better understanding of their cultures. I now speak French, English, German, Spanish, and Portuguese, and I am constantly striving to improve. Mastering a language is a long process, and more than the final result, it’s the journey itself that one must enjoy. Even in my native language, French, I’m always jotting down new words to enrich my vocabulary.
In teaching French, I hope to share not only my passion for language learning but also my love for its rich literature, history, and culture, which, in my opinion, are closely tied to a certain art of conversation—debating life’s big questions over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee.
I also have other passions that I love to share. I enjoy creating illustrations and writing poetry, often inspired by my travels. I am lover of Nature, I am always ready for getaways or camping in beautiful landscapes. I’m also very interested in topics related to anthropology, psychology, linguistics, or even subjects entirely outside my field of knowledge. Isn’t learning new things part of the charm of being human?
À bientôt !
