  • Follow in the footsteps of legends with a guided tour: Embark on a thoughtfully curated tour through the enchanting streets of Montmartre, learn about its history where you’ll trace the paths of iconic artists (painters, singers and actors) who drew inspiration from this vibrant quartier. Engage with the expert guide.
  • Discover the history and the local artists in Le Musée de Montmartre:  Engage in an activity that explores the influential artists who shaped this quartier. Review the three past tenses in context, blending language learning with cultural exploration. Take a break in the Renoir garden’s café.
  • Cinematic experience (optional): Watch a French film at Montmartre’s beloved independent cinema, classified as “Art et Essai.” This charming venue has hosted legendary cinema28-montmartrefilmmakers and artists like Luis Buñuel and Jean Cocteau. Following the screening, engage in lively discussions at the cinéma café.
  • Explore one of the famous cemeteries in Paris: Delve into the stories of the remarkable figures laid to rest in Montmartre Cemetery, including Émile Zola, Berlioz, Sacha Guitry, François Truffaut, and Dalida. Engage in an activity that deepens your understanding of their contributions to culture and art.
  • Real-life conversations: Hone your French skills by practicing question-making in engaging, real-life contexts. Work on your pronunciation with specific exercises, and learn some very typical Parisian vocab and expressions. Gain confidence in your language abilities.

This French workshop is designed by Céline Van Loan and Vincent Anthonioz, the owners of Learn French at Home. With 20 years of experience running this online language school, they organize several workshops each year to provide a unique learning experience to the students. Since 2018, Céline and Vincent have hosted French immersion workshops in both the US and France, creating one-of-a -kind activities for each session and exploring new destinations across France. Their goal is to keep teaching and seeking exciting ways to help students master this beautiful language. It brings Céline and Vincent great joy to hold these events.

At select workshops, they are joined by a dedicated team teacher who assists in facilitating activities and providing additional support. This collaboration enriches the learning environment, allowing for more personalized attention and a broader range of perspectives on the French language and culture.

The workshop will take place at the family-owned TERRASS HOTEL, where the rooms are inspired by the artistic spirit of Montmartre. The restaurant on the top floor offers breathtaking views of Paris.

Who is this event for ?

This French Immersion Retreat is for Intermediate French level students. At this level, you already have learned the past tenses (imparfait et passé composé), the future tenses as well as the conditional one and you wish to practise them in context. You know how to ask and answer questions on personal details, make requests, and hold basic conversations on familiar topics.

3-day workshop payment schedule:
You can either pay in full when booking or make a deposit of $750/ 650€ / £560 / 650 CHF at registration. The remaining payment will be beginning of August 2026. An invoice will be sent to you at that time.

Cancellation policy:

3-day workshop: the deposit is 100% fully refundable before August 15th 2026. After that date, the deposit is non refundable.
After September 1st, 2026, the full workshop price is not refundable, but it can be transferred to another person.
