Tutor Biography

Hello!

My name is Mathilde, and I grew up near the Alps, surrounded by nature and adventure. Between kayaking, caving, skiing and climbing, I learned to love challenges and to keep smiling even when things get tough — a philosophy I also bring to my French lessons!

I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, and I’ve been teaching French for over eight years, both online and abroad. My journey has taken me to England, north of London, and to Spain, in the Basque Country. These enriching experiences made me bilingual in English and Spanish, and helped me understand what it really feels like to learn a new language. I enjoy using my students’ native language when helpful to make explanations clearer and learning smoother.

I’m currently based between Paris and Montpellier, where I continue to teach students from all over the world.

My lessons are dynamic, interactive and tailored to each student’s interests. I love using theatre, music, literature and games to help learners progress naturally — with joy and confidence. And since I’m also an avid reader, I’d be delighted to share some great French book recommendations with you!

My goal: to help you speak French with ease and discover a language that’s rich, authentic, and inspiring.
