Bonjour! My name is Dina, I was born near Paris, and I am a French native speaker.
I have always had a passion for languages and travelling, which is why I studied English in college, then added a major in Teaching French as a Foreign Language so I can be able to work anywhere in the world.
My interests include literature, poetry ( I recently completed a Ph.D. in literature ), and all the arts, but I also enjoy (binge) watching the latest American TV shows on Netflix. I also like to expand my horizons by having my students tell me about their own passions and hobbies — I have had students teaching me about photography, psychology or American politics, in French of course!
I have taught schoolchildren as well as adults (such as business professionals) in a variety of contexts in 4 different countries, including 4 years in Germany where I was a DELF examiner, and most recently in the USA, where I taught at University of California Irvine for 4 years.
I love sharing my native language and culture, and I always strive to get out of my comfort zone as a teacher, whether it is by adapting to a new culture and language or by teaching in a way that is different but more adapted to my student.
