EXPERIENCE:
I’m Virginie and I’m so glad that you’ve found my bio!
You will quickly see that I’m a French native as I still have my French accent when speaking in English, even if I left France 7 years ago. ????
In 2012, my husband and I left France with just 2 pieces of luggage for New Zealand without knowing how to speak any English. We knew nothing about NZ except Byron Kelleher (the rugby man) and the kiwi (the fruit, the bird and people).
We stayed there for two years between both islands, worked in several hotels and lodges and it was an amazing experience.
Life drove us after that to Tahiti for 4 years where we begin our business as Photographers. Finally, after two years of immigration process, we became permanent residents in Canada, in Victoria, British Columbia. We’ve been here since June 2018.
So I know what it’s like to learn a new language, I know that it can be challenging, especially as an adult. But it’s also a wonderful experience which offers amazing possibilities and allows you to connect with people you couldn’t otherwise meet. Most of our friends are from California, Oregon, China, and Japan, and if we didn’t have a common language, we wouldn’t know them.
I used to give French lessons in New Zealand where I had students from South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, China and USA. I’m patient and I have a great sense of humor (I think so). I would love to hear more about you now, let’s get in touch.
