The distance learning approach greatly enhances the comprehension and expression level of the student. Since there are no visuals other than the notes typed by the teacher on the Skype chat board, the student's concentration is highly focused. Every lesson is personalized to the student's objectives and levels - they are performed in a fun and stimulating atmosphere with an encouraging teacher!
WHAT IS THE REGULAR LESSON PROGRAMME?
Each lesson will take place with a French native teacher on Skype and will last 50 minutes followed with 1h and a half of homework.
The lessons are structured according to your level and your teacher will work with you on improving your GENERAL French speaking abilities, verbal comprehension and writing skills. The Regular Lessons programme is personalized to your level and is arranged to give you confidence in speaking about every day life subjects mostly related in the situations found in your environment. New grammar points will also be introduced and practiced through exercises until you have a complete understanding on how they work.
Throughout each lesson, the teacher will set French learning goals which will be practiced verbally via conversation, different role plays, exercises, games, and questioning. The objective is to have you feel comfortable by the end of the lesson with the new information you've gained.
Following are a few examples which falls into the category Regular French lesson:

You are living in France and wish to communicate with the locals, understand French TV, read the newspaper.
-You are going to France on holiday and wish to learn the language in relation to travelling.
-You enjoy learning French and French culture.
-You need to learn the GENERAL business language and communication techniques.
-You're learning French at school and need some help with the work or improve your verbal skills.
The above situations are just a few examples, they are many more. Please note that any French learning objectives needing significant preparation time for the lessons must be taken as a French A La Carte programme. You can discuss your French learning objectives with your advisor who will let you know which programme would be most suitable.
WHO IS IT FOR?
For anyone who can allocate about 2 to 3 hours of French learning during the week (50-minute lesson + one and a half hours of homework). You don't need any French learning experience, beginners to advanced learners are welcome!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
After evaluating your current French level and your objectives with an advisor, a teacher will organize with you a one-to-one 50-minute French lesson at a day and time most convenient for you. The lesson will take place via Internet with Skype.
At the end of the lesson, you will schedule your next lesson date directly with your teacher.
After each lesson, the teacher will send by email the notes taken during class time along with 1½ hours of homework for the student to complete before the next lesson. Every piece of homework is corrected by the teacher (Most private language schools do not offer this additional service but it is crucial in order to make real progress!) The homework's purpose is to allow the student to practice the new elements taught during the lesson as well as to acquire new vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.
This service makes our French learning programme complete and unique!
EXTRA:In addition to the lessons and the homework and in order to practice your French on a daily basis, you will be able to join our forum and respond to the"Question du Jour" in French. After you've responded, the teacher who posted the question will read your response and post any corrections - this way, you will continue to receive ongoing feedback on a daily basis. There is no extra fee for this service.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost per lesson decreases depending on the number
of the lessons purchased. Your teacher devotes 1h30 to 2h of work in preparing and giving each Regular lesson as well as customizing and marking each homework assignment . Again, everything is personalized to your level and pace of learning. You are receiving real value for your money with an individualized programme that allows you to make significant progress on a weekly basis.

Note: Our lesson fees are lower than what is being charged in most language schools around the world.
For example, an individual lesson in France in a language school is usually priced anywhere from 50 to 70 euros per hour;
an individual lesson in Switzerland is priced anywhere from 70 to 90 CHF an hour.
Each Regular lesson includes:
- A one-to-one personalized 50-minute French lesson via Skype.
- Notes of the lesson + about 1½ hours of homework prepared and corrected by the teacher.
- A "question du jour” in French to reply to which is asked by a teacher on our Forum - the students reply in French on a daily basis and receives corrections.
- Accessibility to your French teacher via email or skype in between the lessons for any questions.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM COMMITMENT?
The minimum commitment is only 4 Regular French lessons.
The package you choose will be entered on your file and you may take the lessons at your own pace. Once you've finished your package and you wish to renew for another one, please contact your advisor.
ANY FRENCH LEARNING MATERIALS TO ORDER?
Learn French at Home has created a series of e-books, so that you can receive some learning material with audio links directly into your inbox within a few hours. These books will give you the opportunity to practice your verbal comprehension skills and grammar understanding. They are mostly used during the homework time. Your advisor will inform you of the package of e-books to order which will depend on your French level and your French learning objectives. The cost for these books is a one-time fee and the packages range from 10 to 32 Euros. You will receive the special student price payment link directly from yor advisor or your teacher.
