Taninges is an authentic and beautiful good sized village (3 500 inhabitants), well located on the “Route des grandes alpes”, very close to famous ski resorts like Samoens, Les Gets or Morzine-Avoriaz, Flaine, and about 50 km from Annecy, Chamonix and 30 km from Geneva and Lake Geneva.
This charming village, located in the French Alps, is surrounded by magnificent mountains, forests and rivers, and has kept its authentic architecture. The town centre dates from the Middle Ages, when it became an important centre for artisans. People who come across Taninges are easily charmed by the local village people and its natural beauty with the Foron river which runs through it. The bridge, dates from the XVI century, and the lovely chapel of Sainte Anne which was built in 1583.
It's an inspiring place to walk and wander around. All winter sports are available within a 20-minute drive.

The apartment
The apartment is very well located in the centre of the town, within walking distance of all shops: boulangerie, boucherie, newspaper shops, food stores, open air market... The apartment is on the first floor of a village house. This is the only apartment in the building.
It is a cosy and beautifully decorated apartment with exposed beams. It has a large living room and kitchen. The student will have their private bedroom on the first floor including a single bed, a wardrobe, a working table and a private bathroom.

Your French Hostess
Your hostess was born in the French Alps and has worked most of her life in the city of Geneva (located 45 minutes from her current home). Marie-Claude graduated from the Cooking and Hotel Management school of Bonneville in 1966. Today, she lives in this beautiful and spacious flat. Marie-Claude will be able to take you around to the different beautiful spots in the French Alps. Not only is she an excellent communicator, but she's also a wonderful cook and has a great sense of humour. Marie-Claude will be happy to share with you some of her favourite recipes! Being an excellent communicator makes her a very good and clear speaker. She will be patient and encouraging when you speak. Marie-Claude is also known to be a very tasteful decorator and everyone falls in love with her home. You will feel at home and Marie-Claude will make sure that you are indeed comfortable!!
